IISER-IAT 2025 at a glance

 

Eligibility criteria

• Applicants must be Indian nationals, OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals to apply for IAT 2025.

• The candidates must have passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination with science stream from any board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India. Foreign Nationals need to upload an equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities unless they have passed the Class XII or equivalent level examination from any board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India. The equivalence certificate must be uploaded while submitting the IAT 2025 Application Form under "Please upload copy of document supporting your claim of Foreign National (You'll need to produce original when necessary)".

• Candidates should have been born on or after October 01, 2000. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e, these candidates should have been born on or after October 01, 1995. Note that, there is no restriction based on the completion year of Class XII.

• candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

• • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD are required to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination. Candidates belonging to other categories are required to score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

Admission to IISERs

Admission to IISERs is exclusively through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT), which is a computer-based test scheduled on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 9:00 AM, at various centres across the country.

Performance Criteria in Class XII (or equivalent examination)

• Candidates whose Class XII (or equivalent) examination results have not yet been declared can apply for IAT 2025. However, their admission will be subject to fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria given above.
• For candidates who have appeared in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination multiple times (for whatever reasons), the best of the performances in terms of aggregate in a given year will be considered.
• If a board gives aggregate marks considering both Class XI and Class XII, then only Class XII (or equivalent) examination marks will be considered. If a board gives aggregate marks considering the results of all three years of a 3-year diploma or courses of equivalent duration, then only the marks scored in the final year will be considered. Similarly, the marks scored in the final two semesters will be considered for boards that follow a semester system.

• compensatory time

the said Act are also eligible for one hour compensatory time on the production of “Disability and Having Difficulty in Writing" certificate (see Downloads section) duly issued by the competent authority.

If it is found at any stage that a candidate has availed of compensatory time, but is not eligible to do so, the candidate will be excluded from the process of evaluation, ranking and admission. If such a candidate has already been admitted to any IISER, the candidate's admission will be cancelled. The opinion of the medical board constituted by individual IISER shall be final.

OCI/PIO

OCI/PIO card holders can apply for IAT 2025, provided they satisfy other eligibility criteria. They shall be eligible to compete for the unreserved seats. The applicant needs to upload an equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities unless they have passed the Class XII or equivalent level examination from any board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India.

Foreign Nationals

Candidates who are not citizens of India AND do not hold OCI/PIO cards shall be considered as foreign nationals. Such candidates are eligible to appear for IAT 2025. The applicant need to upload an equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities unless they have passed the Class XII or equivalent level examination from any board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India. The equivalence certificate must be uploaded while submitting the IAT 2025 Application Form under "Please upload copy of document supporting your claim of Foreign National (You'll need to produce original when necessary)".

The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) for 2025 will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 9 AM. The exam will be conducted at various centers across India. 

Application process

The application form for the IISER 2025 exam will be available from March 5, 2025. 

The application fee is Rs. 2,000 for candidates applying under General, EWS, OBC, and OBC-NCL categories. 

The application form correction window will be from April 21, 2025 to April 22, 2025. 

The admit card for the IISER 2025 exam will be available on May 15, 2025. 

Exam pattern 

The IISER 2025 exam will be a computer-based test.

The exam will consist of 60 multiple-choice questions spread over four sections.

The four sections are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.

Each section will have 15 questions.

Candidates will be awarded 3 marks for each correct answer and there will be a negative marking of 1 mark on each incorrect answer.

 பொறியியல் படிப்புக்கான ஜேஇஇ 2-ம் கட்ட முதன்மை தேர்வு ஏப்ரலில் நடைபெற உள்ளது. இதில் பங்கேற்க விரும்பும் மாணவர்கள் பிப்ரவரி 25-ம் தேதிக்குள் விண்ணப்பிக்க வேண்டும் என்று என்டிஏ அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளது.

ஐஐடி, என்ஐடி போன்ற மத்திய உயர்கல்வி நிறுவனங்களில் இளநிலை படிப்புகளில் சேர ஒருங்கிணைந்த நுழைவுத் தேர்வில் (ஜேஇஇ) தேர்ச்சி பெறவேண்டும். இது ஜேஇஇ முதன்மை தேர்வு, பிரதான தேர்வு என 2 பிரிவாக நடைபெறும். இதில், முதன்மை தேர்வை தேசிய தேர்வுகள் முகமை (என்டிஏ) நடத்துகிறது. ஆண்டுதோறும் ஜனவரி, ஏப்ரல் என 2 முறை இத்தேர்வு நடத்தப்படுகிறது. 

அதன்படி 2025-26-ம் கல்வி ஆண்டுக்கான ஜேஇஇ முதல்கட்ட முதன்மை தேர்வு ஜனவரி 22 முதல் 30-ம் தேதி வரை நடந்தது. சுமார் 13 லட்சம் பேர் எழுதினர். இதன் முடிவுகள் பிப்ரவரி 12-ம் தேதி வெளியிடப்பட உள்ளன. 

இந்நிலையில், ஜேஇஇ 2-ம்கட்ட முதன்மை தேர்வு ஏப்ரல் 1 முதல் 8-ம் தேதி வரை நடைபெற உள்ளது. இதற்கான இணையதள விண்ணப்ப பதிவு தற்போது தொடங்கியுள்ளது. விருப்பம் உள்ள மாணவர்கள் jeemain.nta.nic.in என்ற இணையதளம் வாயிலாக பிப்ரவரி 25-ம் தேதிக்குள் விண்ணப்பிக்க வேண்டும்.

Candidates who were awaiting the application form to be released can visit ignou-bed.samarth.edu.in and log in by filling in their details. To successfully submit the IGNOU BEd 2025 application form, candidates will have to fill in their details and pay the application fee in online mode. 

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) which was expected to release the IGNOU BEd application form 2025 earlier, has activated the registration link. IGNOU has launched its new portal for the IGNOU BEd 2025 registrations. Candidates who were awaiting the application form to be released can visit ignou-bed.samarth.edu.in and log in by filling in their details.

While filling out the application form for IGNOU BEd application 2025 candidates will have to name, DOB, email address, and mobile number. After filling in these details, a user ID will be generated which students will have to use to login into the portal after which they will have to fill in additional details. To successfully submit the IGNOU BEd 2025 application form, candidates will have to pay the application fee.

Candidates who successfully submit the application form IGNOU BEd will be issued the admit card to appear in the exam. The entrance exam will be tentatively conducted by the end of February 2025.

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) recently held a meeting where significant decisions were made regarding several teacher training courses, including the one-year BEd course. One-Year BEd Course Returns After 10 Years

Only candidates who have completed a four-year undergraduate course or possess a postgraduate degree will be eligible for the one-year graduate course. The one-year BEd course was discontinued in 2014, with the final batch admitted in 2015. This marks its return after a ten-year absence.

While the one-year BEd course is being reinstated, specific eligibility criteria must be met. Only candidates with a four-year undergraduate degree or a postgraduate degree are eligible to enrol.

What is the Four-Year Course? (ITEP Course Details)

ITEP stands for Integrated Teacher Education Programme. This is a four-year teacher training course developed by the NCTE under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. According to the NCTE Chairman, this course is currently being offered at 64 locations across the country. It allows students to pursue a BEd in their chosen subject and is a four-year dual-degree graduate-level course.

Candidates are required to fill the Registration Form Online as per the instructions mentioned and upload the requisite documents at the time of Registration. 

A candidate has to make an online payment of Rs. 600/- (General/OBC (Non Creamy)/GEN-EWS Category) & Rs. 300/- (SC/ST/PWD Category) against the registration.

 Payments of application fee (Rs. 600/- or Rs. 300/-) can be made through credit cards/debit cards/internet banking. The bank and/or transaction charges on the application fee will be borne by the candidate.

A Paper Based Test (PBT) for all Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) Programmes will be conducted on 11th May 2025 at 36 cities.

Important Dates to remember. 

Eligibility for admission to Bachelor Degree Programmes (B.Des. / BBA)

• A candidate who has passed :-
  a) 10+2, in any stream, from any recognized Board; or
  b) any School or Board or University examination in India or in foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system; or
  c) School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects; or
  d) All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved three –years full time Diploma after Class X offered by Board of Technical Education of any state or Union territory;
• A candidate who has appeared for any examination as mentioned above, and whose result has not been declared at the time of admission, shall be eligible to apply for admission to the Bachelor’s Programmes and such candidate, if selected, shall be granted provisional admission and shall be required to submit the result of the requisite examination on or before the 30th day of September 2025 to the Admission In Charge where the admission has been granted, failing which the candidate’s admission may be cancelled and entire fee will be forfeited. Such candidates have to produce proof of having appeared for the examination during the Counseling process of FDDI programmes.
• The age limit for the Bachelor’s programme shall be 25 years as on the 1st July 2025.

Eligibility for Admission to Master Degree programmes

• A.) Master of Design (M.Des.) in Footwear Design & Production: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India. However, the bridge programme compriseing of two to three relevant subjects may be offered with the existing M.Des. programme to the students who doesn’t have any design background to provide necessary design inputs in order to understand the design concepts.
• B.) Master of Design (M.Des.) in Fashion Design: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.

• C.) Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Retail & Fashion Merchandise :Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.
• D.) A candidate who has appeared in any examination for any of the degree referred to under clause (A) & clause (B) and whose result has not been declared at the time of admission, shall be eligible to apply for admission to the Master’s Programmes and such candidate, if selected, shall be granted provisional admission and shall be required to submit the result of the requisite examination on or before the 30th day of September 2025 to the Admission In Charge where the admission has been granted, failing which the candidate’s admission may be cancelled and entire fee will be forfeited.
